Dirty Old New Orleans

So i've been all over the world. I love big cities. fun. adventure. culture. And maybe i'm missing something here but this place is dirty and SCARY!! I've never felt so unsafe in all my life. (and i've lived in South America most of my life) The convention center where we'll be in the expo is old and kinda run down. There are homeless people everywhere. It's like i don't even want to leave anything in my car even if it's locked! we just went in and unloaded our stuff saw the scary little parking lot across the street and saw enough of down town to know not to be there after dark!
Then we get to our extended stay hotel. well around here i guess they are serious about extending their stay cause someone had stuffed animals lined up outside one of the windows. like 10 of them! We've been hearing all kind of things out there. We made a stop at the local Walmart and our Walmart in Lynchburg MAYBE got that crazy right b4 Christmas. WOW. I've never seen so many people wearing headphones or talking on their cell phone. Seriously! So far i'd rather not come back to NEW Orleans if it's up to me. Maybe as the week goes on we will find something that gives it redeeming value. Any suggestions?
On a very possitive note, our booth location is great! we should have much more of a buisness flow this time. Keep us in your prayers. I think it's going to be a profitable week regardless of the condition of this dark city.
