I'm TOTALLY done!!
Wow... I can't believe that i am done with paying off my loan!!!!!! I just got my check in the mail from Jerrod! I only have like $1,190 left to pay on that loan, so plus the check waiting for me at the Daily Grind the loan is PAID!! i was originally thinking i would be done around April or May. OH MY GOSH!! i can't believe i was sooo much closer.. Now i don't know what to do with myself. DO i stay and just make for fun money? or do i put in my 2 weeks notice?? i do love my job, but you know i would much rather be doing other stuff with my time, like knitting, or sowing. it feels like a dream.
It all started 3 years ago when i became a director. In January 2002 i needed a lot of new things for my buisness, consolidate debt, training trips i had to go on and other buisness supplies. I took out a loan. $8,000. Wow. that's the price of a car. The payments were $260 per month and i've done all sorts of creative things to pay it. For the first year i was still in Mary Kay so i had classes to make MK money to pay it. Then dad got sicker and i gave up my director possition, gave the car back.. oh man that was the hardest part.
Then for about a year i did random stuff to pay it off. Sold some stuff here and there. but mostly Brian paid it for me. Then we did My Director. Matt and Brian paid me to sell that at the expo and a few months after that. It was fun but i didn't like working from home i found out. When Steph asked if she could help me out by giving me a job with Sammibag i was really excited. I thought, every little bit will help towards paying off this loan! Mark and Steph paid me so generously it helped a lot towards paying it off. I loved the bags so much it just made sense. We had tons of fun together, and learned a lot abot each other too. I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. Thanks again Steph for helping my cause!
Then i took some time off.. and every month was the same, "Hey baby, can you pay my loan this month?".. till he got tired of that :) and so did i! i hated that he was helping everytime. So we decided that i would just get a job fuller time :) tee hee.. and pay it off faster. Incomes the Daily Grind.. i had always wanted to work there, i mean, i thought it would be fun. Thanks to Matt Pantana who knew my boss, Matt Fleming i got the job. It totally just came to me, i wasn't even looking at the time. i was just recovering from surgery.
And now i just got back from a great trip to Atlanta, with my friend Jerrod Weeks from Pink Inc whom i met when we were in Dallas selling My Director. Wow it is so amazing how everything worked together. Thanks to Jerrods check i am actually done with this loan that has been hanging over my head for so long. I am soo bursting with thanksgiving right now. I don't want to forget this feeling. I actually finished. i actually finished something. wow.
so i'm taking votes on staying at DG or just putting in my two weeks.. OH btw if you know my boss.. please don't tell him i'm thinking of leaving.. He doesn't need to know yet. I'll give him a fair notice. Thanks also to all who helped me along the way to get this done... Brian, Steph, Matt, Jerrod.. I'm so excited.. wow. wow. wow. wow. ok i'm done. I've got to clean the house..

I vote keep. Think of all the yarn youi could buy, and weekends with Brian and B&Bs...
So proud of you, Joy -- you did it!
Hopefully Matt F. doesn't google himself before you let him know your plans. :)
Perhaps you should stay on as a fill in person. It could be fun every once in a while. It is completely up to you, I'm happy when you're happy!
Another vote for *keep* - unless you really loathe your job, then I would stay. I'm sure you'll enjoy it much more now that you can spend the money on something other than paying off debt.
So proud of you hon - I know how happy you must be, and we're happy for you!! Love you!
Holy $%()*#(*($^$^%!&@#*!!!! I am SOOO proud of you!!! That is awesome, Joy!
I say keep the job. You could work just a little for fun. I'm sure you're great at your job and I know they'd be sad to lose you. Plus, I'm sure you'd miss the social aspect of it. Kelly had a great idea - put your money towards something you love - like knitting supplies!
Love you, girl! So proud of you!
My Sweet Daughter...
You are too much...you make you Mamita one proud Momma. My vote? Mmmmm..hard thing...I say..follow your heart...You and Brian have always made wise decisions in the past and I know you will do the same this time!!
oh Joy! I am so proud of you! You finished! what a gigantic feat of will power, sacrifice, and hard work! I vote stay and spend the money on shopping, knitting, and dinners out with friends. I have seen you in motion at work and you are a natural!

I would give my eye teeth for a job-maybe I'll come down and work for you and give you the money?? :) How does that sound? seriously, working is a priviledge, I've come to realize that. Plus, I have seen you in action and you are wonderul at making people lattes and brightening up their day.
Congratulations on paying off your loan! What an accomplishment!
So...Joy...what's your decision?! Love you and miss you!
